Massive Talent-Nick Cage Movie

Massive Talent-Nick Cage Movie

LionsGate: The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

I believe there are still and always have been Nicholas Cage fans out there. I mean who doesn’t like the actor, with movies: ‘Face Off’, ‘National Treasure’, ‘Ghost Rider’ just to name a few. Now here we are, with his new movie; ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ with the still-upcoming actor; Pedro Pascal, better known to the world as the ‘Mandalorian’ or ‘Javier Pena’ from Narcos. These two put together made the screen so intimate yet open. The friendship that is built in this movie is so deep and a rollercoaster of emotions. The audience’s reactions to the two playing off of each other are electrifying.

Their comedic timing in every scene was just perfectly written. This movie was a bit of everything, or as Nick Cage says in the movie, “A more adult movie, serious…” yet it was a play on those words as the movie was hilarious and dangerous. Nick and Pedro’s characters plan on making a movie together about the friendship they built in the movie. Whilst events during the movie go on, it is also “written” into their movie.

Cage and Pascal.

Nick’s fictionalized version of himself in this movie, oh did i forget he is playing himself! Well, in this version of himself, he must accept a million dollar offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous drug cartel super fan; Javi Gutierrez (Pascal’s char.). Things take a crazy turn and an unexpected one when Nick Cage is recruited by the CIA. Leading that role is actress Tiffany Haddish as Vivian. Basically, Cage has to live up to his own legend and channel his most iconic characters in order to save himself and his family.

It is action packed, comedic, and a whirlwind of a little bit of everything in between. Massive Talent is one of those movies you go and see and just have a good time! If you have not seen it yet, I suggest you go and check it out, you will be surprised how much we needed this movie, with all the MCU/DC movies coming into play again. It is definitely different, but worth the watch!
